FUTURE FOCUSED.

The Issues:
The issues I focus on include strengthening local control, examining the impact of government regulation on small businesses and agricultural sectors, improving transparency between government and constituents, exploring ways to expand economic opportunities for future generations, identifying local solutions to local challenges, and reviewing state budget processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency. I approach these areas with guidance from my personal faith and fiscally conservative values, which shape how I think about integrity, stewardship, and community responsibility.
The Issues
The issues that are facing our great state, and our residents future.
01
Local Control
The state has gained too much power, which needs to be reigned in. I will work with my colleagues to amend PA233, which gives local control on Solar Farms back to local governments. The MPSC has too much authority, and should not be able to dictate how rural areas govern.
02
Agriculture & Small Business
I will work hard to de-regulate agriculture commodities and small businesses. Farmers are struggling, due to the high cost to comply with regulations put in place by our state government. We need to encourage farming and entrepreneurship to the next generation to create a sustainable future.
03
Income Tax Reform
Our states budget has increased from $59.6 billion to $82.5 billion in just six years. I would support legislation that would start by cutting the income tax to 3.9%. Michigan's taxpayers are in desperate need of a tax break, which can happen when we trim the state budget.
04
Future Opportunities
We need a leader in Lansing that knows the economic challenges of young adults. While many flee the state in search for better economic opportunities and housing, we continue to make it more challenging. I will work with my colleagues to reform property taxes, and increase opportunities for our next generation.

The Solution:
To ensure a sustainable future for agriculture in our state, I believe we must reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens. I support a “No Stricter Than Federal” policy for small businesses and agricultural commodities. This would prevent the state from imposing rules that go beyond federal standards, lowering labor costs for programs like H-2A and making it easier for farmers to access needed water resources.
Although recent federal decisions have eased some wetland regulations, our state continues to enforce stricter rules than both federal guidelines and neighboring states. EGLE has also added burdensome requirements that I believe should be decided through the legislature, not by appointed officials.
My solution is to return regulatory authority to the House of Representatives and ensure our state aligns with federal standards. This approach will support farmers, reduce unnecessary costs, and strengthen the long-term sustainability of agriculture in our state.

My Viewpoint:
I stand firm in my commitment to protect and restore local control across Michigan. Our state government has grown so large that many rural residents no longer feel they have a real say in the decisions that shape their own communities.
For years, leaders in Lansing have steadily pulled authority away from rural areas, including much of the 101st District. This shift is an overreach of state power and has weakened the ability of local people to guide the future of their communities.
It is time to return that authority to the local boards and officials who know their communities best. Repealing Public Act 233 is an important first step, but it will take a legislature that truly values local voices and is willing to stand up to the growing influence of appointed bureaucrats in Lansing.

A stronger future begins when the next generation steps forward to lead with purpose and conviction.
